I dare you! Just try and change your life. Because it’s not easy is it?

For the majority, a better life often looks too far away or they don’t know how to get there. I once thought the answer was to work harder but over time I can vouch that hard work alone is not the solution either. If you can figure out what you want, this article can help you dramatically increase your odds of changing your life the way you want it to be.

So if you really want to change your life then you need to know it is your thoughts and particularly your unconscious thoughts that lay the foundation of your experiences. That is why they say when you change your thoughts you will change your life. Changing the way you think will change the foundation and that’s how you grow a new life.

Yes, this really is how you get transformed. The mind is like a gigantic search engine. It takes your thoughts as inputs then searches out matching experiences for output. Put in different thoughts and out comes a different experience.

But here’s the hitch and why it’s not so obvious to all. Most of the dominant thoughts that rule our lives are unconscious to us. We don’t really think about them. And for that reason we might not even know they exist. So when you give your mind a conscious input that you want a new car or a better life, your mind also considers your unconscious thoughts, the ones you are not aware of. That is why the outcome frequently doesn’t match what you consciously inputted. Your unconscious dominant fears took over and you didn’t even know it.

Your unconscious dominant self talk could have been anywhere from “you can’t afford that” to “there are other things to spend money on” or even “should I really do this”. This gives doubt to the mind how serious you are about buying a new car or making changes in your life. Maybe you are just day dreaming again. Your unconscious fears motion for the action to be over ruled. Past rulings take precedence over the flimsy conscious thoughts that change from minute to minute. And that’s why life continues as if little or nothing ever happened.

Can you just imagine your mind’s input box receiving “I want a new car” from your conscious self talk but hears “I can’t afford a car”, “maybe I should buy something else”, “I’m afraid” coming from your unconscious self talk. What kind of output do you expect the mind to give you anyway? I think it is called garbage in, garbage out? However you cannot bury the garbage you must get rid of it or find an ecological balance.

The garbage usually consists of different forms or expressions of known and unknown fears, a sense of not deserving, doubt, guilt or lack of worthiness. I call this garbage because a lot of it is not true. Even so those thoughts live on and sound like “What if it doesn’t work out?”, “I’m not as good as other people”, “Am I greedy?”, “Why try?”, “I don’t think I can”, “nothing every works out” and “you’re not good enough”.

And if that kind of unconscious garbage is being fed into your mind’s input box that is going to be the base mix of everything you experience or that comes to you from your mind’s output box.

So if you want to change your life, first you need to be aware and understand how much your unconscious thoughts are really the ones doing the steering in your life. You will need to listen and hear what you are saying to your self. The only way you are going to change the output is by changing the input. When you hear doubt or fear say “Aha!”

The next step is to manually tell your self that those negative, unhealthy thoughts are not welcome anymore and replace them with healthy thoughts. This is not easy. Your unconscious thoughts are very established and don’t want to leave. They will unwittingly fight every step of the way. But with persistence you can win—they are only thoughts.
